We select a book, specifically for you, based on your personal preferences. These are selections made by expert booksellers, and as such are guaranteed.

How Does Brilliant Books Monthly Work?

We send a preferences card for you to complete, asking about your favorite authors, genres, and styles, etc.

Once we get that back, we begin sending books based on your personal preferences.

Once again, a perfect choice. Leaving Time was amazing! I've never had anyone (not even myself) choose such perfect books for me. I'm loving the Book of the Month present.

How Do I Give Brilliant Books Monthly as a Gift?

We send a welcome pack, including a Brilliant Books Monthly preferences card, for your recipient to complete. This comes with a card presenter, so you can give Brilliant Books Monthly as a gift.

Alternatively, we can send the welcome pack directly to your loved one, complete with special message from you. Just let us know in the order comments at checkout.

I kind of get excited waiting to check the mail in the middle of the month hoping that its a book from your store. Your services were a gift to me from a friend and Ive been recommending you nonstop to others. This is truly a great gift and your team seems like they have a talent.

Please do ensure that the contact email and phone number for the initial order are yours. Otherwise we might thank the recipient for buying the gift! The preferences card will give us their contact details, so you don't need to include these. If you want us to ship the welcome pack directly to your recipient, enter their address as the 'ship to' and use the comments section to let us know what message to include.

What If I Get a Book I Have Already Read, or That I Simply Don't Like?

Let us know and we'll immediately send a replacement, along with a pre-paid mailing label with which to return the unwanted book. To be eligible for replacement or exchange, selections must be returned in salable condition within 60 days. Books that you specifically request are not eligible for replacement or exchange.

Can I Get Books Every Other Month, Rather Than Monthly?

Yes, of course. We are happy to tailor your Brilliant Books Monthly subscription to meet your needs. It is a personal subscription service.

What If I Find I Have Too Many Books to Read?

You can pause Brilliant Books Monthly at any time. Going to be hiking the Appalachian Trail for 3 months? Not a problem. Let us know and we'll pause your subscription and start it up again once you're back. In fact, you can adjust Brilliant Books Monthly to work just for you. It is, after all, a personal subscription service.

What If I Have a Problem or Query? Who Do I Contact?

We are an actual brick and mortar bookstore, so rather than having booksellers try to assist both customers in the store and Brilliant Books Monthly subscribers across the country, we have a dedicated Brilliant Books Monthly 'email concierge' who handles all queries swifty. What If My Book Does Not Arrive?

Questions regarding the shipment and delivery of your packages can be directed to the 'email conceirge'. If your book gets lost in transit, we can replace it at no charge. Note that correctly addressed shipments returned to us by the Postal Service as ‘Undeliverable’ may be subject to shipping and administration charges.

Why Don't You Call It Brilliant Book of the Month?

Our service used to be called Brilliant Book of the Month but now we're not allowed to use that name.  Seriously.   Yes, we too thought "Book of the Month" was pretty much ubiquitous, until we received a  Cease and Desist from Bookspan, the folks who apparently own the name.  Which is why Brilliant Books is the only bookstore in America not allowed to have a "Book of the Month Club".
