Emily St. John Mandel has a special relationship with Brilliant Books. We're huge fans of her award-winning novel Station Eleven, of course, but we actually met Emily much earlier in her career and have been delighted to share her work with readers as she continues to gain recognition.
Now she's done the same for us in a very big way by introducing the many readers of FiveThirtyEight to Brilliant Books. Her latest article for the news site explores the popularity of books with ‘girl’ in the title—like Paula Hawkins’ Girl on the Train and Razor Girl by Carl Hiaasen—and each of the many examples she gives directs readers to our website, giving people across the country the chance to find the book at their Long Distance Local Bookstore.
With an introduction from such a distinguished author, it’s no surprise that we've welcomed more visitors than usual to our website lately. We love sharing what we do, from our unbeatable customer service to our unique offerings like Brilliant Books Monthly, and our heartfelt thanks go out to Emily for helping us to reach this new audience. We will look forward to reading and sharing more of her work, including her upcoming novel, whether or not it has ‘girl’ in the title.
