Brilliant Books' Affiliate Program: FAQ

 

Brilliant Books' Affiliate Program is a way for authors, bloggers, and other booklovers with a web presence to support your Long Distance Local Bookstore while earning a commission for yourself.  The process is simple, and once you're enrolled and the links are placed on your website, you don't have to do a thing!

What's a "qualifying website"?

A qualifying website is any site over which you have control of the content and a means to add the affiliate HTML code.  This includes blogs, even those hosted by an external service (WordPress, Blogger, Weebly, etc.), as well as personal websites, author websites, etc.

Why was my application rejected, and when can I reapply?

Your application was likely rejected because of content which would violate the Affiliate Agreement, which states that "no Hyperlink will be placed on any page or screen that contains content that: advocates discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age; promotes or engages in illegal activities, violates intellectual property rights of third parties; or contains or promotes deceptive information."  Please review your site for potential violations, and reapply once the issues are resolved.

How much do I earn from each sale?

Your commission is a flat rate of 5% for all sales based on the total of each sale before taxes and shipping are added, and after processing fees have been assessed for the order total.  (Processing fees affect the order total, and therefore your commission only indirectly; no fees are taken from your commission.) 

How are sales tracked?

Sales are tracked through the use of the affiliate links provided in your Affiliate Center Dashboard.  Visitors to your site who follow an affiliate link to the Brilliant Books website and make a purchase before leaving the site will earn you a commission.  It is your responsibility to ensure that the links are placed correctly on your site; if you're having trouble doing so, please contact your webmaster or your web platform's customer service department.  Unfortunately, Brilliant Books cannot provide technical assistance in placing links.

How can I see how much money I've earned?

You can track your earnings and the clicks on your links via the Affiliate Center Dashboard, which is available under your user homepage when you're logged in (click on the Sign In tab on the main menu to get to your user homepage).

How often will I be paid, and how will my payment be made?

You will not receive a payment until you have earned a minimum of $50.00.  Your earnings will accrue continuously until you are paid (i.e. there's no chance you're going to lose your earnings because you don't reach $50.00 within a given time frame).  Once you reach $50.00, you will receive a check at the end of the quarter for the entire amount you are owed.

How do I create affiliate links to specific products?

To create a link to a specific product on the website, you will need to know the ISBN (for books) or SKU (all other products).  Under your Affiliate Center Dashboard, click on the tab labled "Generate Links."  Simply copy and paste that number into the box at the bottom of the page to generate your link automatically.

Where do I find the Affiliate Center Dashboard?

The Affiliate Center Dashboard is available under your user homepage when you're logged in (click on the Sign In tab on the main menu to get to your user homepage).
