Art Walk 2022

Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Rebecca Howe paintingThis Friday, Traverse City is once again celebrating local artists with Art Walk!  Downtown businesses are bringing in all kinds of visual & musical artists to highlight our town's vibrant arts community.

There will be tons to do, including live music at multiple locations—and it looks like we'll have great weather for the occasion!  Head downtown this Friday (May 6) from 4-7pm to join in the festivities.

At Brilliant Books, we're excited to host painter and multimedia artist Rebecca Howe.  Drop by between 4 and 7pm to browse books, art, and watch Rebecca's creative process in a live demonstration!  Rebecca's art (both originals and prints) will also be available for purchase.

Want to learn more about Art Walk?  Find more details (and an interview with Rebecca!) below.

Brilliant Books' Box Design Contest

Think you have what it takes to design our 2023 Young Readers' Brilliant Books Monthly Welcome Box?  Now's your chance to find out!

In this contest, we're inviting kids 12 and under to create their very own cover for the 2023 Welcome Box for Brilliant Books Monthly: Young Readers' Edition.  The sky is the limit on what these budding artists can create, as long as the design is their own work and relates to books and reading!

National Writers' Series Presents: Scott Turow Online

Tuesday, May 12th, 2020

"An Evening with Scott Turow will now be a virtual event on Wednesday, May 20, at 7pm via zoom. Guest host is Patrick Livingston, news director at 7&7 UpNorth Live.

We're quite eager to hear from Turow—he's still a practicing lawyer and he writes legal thrillers. You've probably heard of Presumed Innocent and The Burden of Proof. His new book, coming out May 12, is The Last Trial and is about an 85-year-old defense attorney who decides to defend one last client—a longtime friend accused of murder. What could possibly go wrong?"
