Happy Earth Day!

First celebrated more than 50 years ago as the environmentalism movement of the 70s was taking off, Earth Day was created as a way to channel public action into helping the environment.  We've come a long way since then, thanks in large part to better education as a society as to how our actions and choices affect our planet, both now and into the future.

Today, we hope everyone takes the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful planet we call home, perhaps by exploring the great outdoors, sharing a story about nature with a young reader, or enjoying one yourself.  To that end, we've assembled some of our favorite Earth and environment-centric books for readers of all ages.  How will you celebrate Earth Day?
