Ah, the anticipation! These days, we're looking forward to lots of things: warm sunny weather, Memorial Day's unofficial start to summer, and, (hopefully) a triumphant success of our Shelf Preservation Campaign. But being book people, we are also looking forward to a great many books.

Series are a great way to keep young readers engaged in what they're reading, and there are a lot of really fantastic series out there to discover. Actually, there are so many that we're breaking this feature into a multi-part series itself, covering lists of our favorite series in different genres. First up, Fantasy!
BookTube is a YouTube Original series that is released each month. Every episode features a different notable author who discusses their books and related topics. Interviews range from James Patterson to Michelle Obama to Margaret Atwood.
Our new Staff Favorites list is in the works, but we thought we'd do something a little different this time. Instead of releasing them all at once, we're going to feature the picks of each bookseller indivually. Here's Sam's recommendations for the middle grade readers!

"I'm looking for a good book for a ten year old boy..."
Fantastic! There's nothing our booksellers like more than combing through our shelves to find a young reader his next favorite read.We'll ask a few questions -- does he prefer fantasy or realistic fiction? How does he feel about historical fiction? Are there any specific topics he loves or hobbies he has? -- and then we'll go ahead and start building our recommendations.
