An Evening with Deb JJ Lee
Join us for an evening with Deb JJ Lee, creator of the graphic memoir In Limbo, which was chosen as this year's community read title at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Lee will be visiting northern Michigan for a three day residency at Interlochen to share their experience and expertise with academy students, but will also be appearing for a public event right here at Brilliant Books!

About the Artist:
Deb JJ Lee is a Korean American artist currently living in Brooklyn, NY . They have appeared in the New Yorker, Washington Post, NPR, Google, Radiolab, PBS, and more. Books they have illustrated include The Invisible Boy by Alyssa Hollingsworth (Roaring Brook Press, 2020) and The Other Side of Tomorrow by Tina Cho (HarperCollins, 2024). They enjoy reality tv, sparkling water, and pretending to be an extrovert.
About the Guest Interviewer:
Sage Mitchell (he/they) is a queer writer and educator from Michigan. He teaches English to emerging artists at Interlochen Arts Academy. His poetry has been published in The Great Lakes Review, Pile Press, Tilted House, and elsewhere. Sage’s first chapbook Dirt Stache is due from Neon Hemlock Summer 2024.
