Series are a great way to keep young readers engaged in what they're reading, and there are a lot of really fantastic series out there to discover. Actually, there are so many that we're breaking this feature into a multi-part series itself, covering lists of our favorite series in different genres. First up, Fantasy!
This series is an absolute favorite of mine. It's one that some kids might have missed. If they enjoyed Harry Potter or Land of Stories, they will love this!
Ages 9-12 Series Length: 5 books
The author of One and Only Ivan, the Animorphs series (I couldn't believe it!), and many more brings us a thrilling new adventure that features the story of an endling- an animal that is the last known of its kind. This fast paced trilogy features a unique setting, courageous characters and even a little humor.
Ages 8-12 Series Length: 2 books and counting
This is another series that kids might not have read yet. It's a dark magical fantasy based in part on Arthurian legend.
Ages 10 and up Series Length: 5 books
This trilogy is set during the Cold War with magic that almost feels a little like science. Perfect for readers who enjoy history, science but still want the fantasy element.
