Have you ever heard a song and been instantly reminded of one of your favorite books, or maybe a character in that book?  We’re no stranger to that feeling either!  When I first heard “the fruits” by Paris Paloma, I instantly thought of Abitha, the protagonist of Brom’s Slewfoot.  From there, it spiraled into making an entire playlist for Slewfoot, and I thought “wouldn’t it be fun to share this with my fellow booksellers?  Or better yet, with our lovely customers?”

Introducing “Brilliant Mixtapes”!  These playlists are curated by individual booksellers for some of their favorite books.  It was so fun to see how each of us created our own Mixtape, whether we based it on the general vibe of a book or as a soundtrack to experience as you’re reading the book, or even based on a singular character from that book.  “Brilliant Mixtapes” is a project we hope to constantly add to as we feel inspired by books we read or songs we hear.  As we create new Mixtapes, we’ll be placing Spotify codes for each playlist on shelves around the store near their respective books for you to scan with your Spotify app, so come in and take a peek!  To peruse Brilliant Books’ Spotify page, click here.  We’ve also added links to some specific Mixtapes below!
