Justin's Farewell...Kind Of
Farewell Brilliant Books… well, kind of. I am making my exit from behind the counter to go work on the gym floor of the YMCA! I worked in a gym as an attendant and a trainer through college and I’ve come to miss that line of work. So, I’m excited to say I’m heading to the YMCA to work as a person trainer!
I’m going to miss Brilliant so much that I’m not going to completely leave. I’m still going to pop in from time to time and pick books for brilliant book subscribers and do other miscellaneous things.
Working at Brilliant Books has been a lovely experience. I will miss my coworkers and being amongst the books regularly. Thankfully I still get to stay involved and see everyone and all the books whenever I stop by!

When doctors can't help with Marjorie's schizophrenic behavior the family turns to a Catholic Priest who becomes convinced Marjorie's is under demonic possession. This spirals out of control and next thing the family knows their house is filled with camera men turning their lives in to a television show. Marjorie's younger sister, Merry, retells this story for an interview 14 years later and goes well beyond the scope of the television show. This is a gripping story of psychological horror that's filled with to the brim with suspense.

A masterful blend of thriller, fantasy, and cosmic horror. This book had me at the edge of my seat the whole way.

Demchuk doesn't use any cheap scare tactics, but goes for a deep, disturbing plot. What really makes this book odd, while adding an extra layer of horror, is the authors added personal history in between chapters. This book has tons of depth and is really fascinating.

Yan Ge creates a hypnotic, dreamy atmosphere in a fascinating look at fictional creatures filled to the brim with down-to-earth emotions.

The long wait for the follow up to The Golem and the Jinni was worth it. Enchanting magical realism and mythological fantasy with the fascinating historical background of 1900's New York.
We see our main character, Johnny, lose himself to an old manuscript that documents a families life in a house that continues to gain new passage ways into the dark. As the house and Johnny change, so does the text, creating a very dark and surreal experience for the reader.

F***ing perfect. Probably has the best character development out of any book I've ever read.
