Memorial Day Weekend Updates

Memorial Day weekend already?  This spring has flown by, and now it's time for beaches, barbeques, and vacations Up North.  Though we're still being somewhat cautious for the benefit of our young visitors and their families, we're excited for a summer that looks much more normal than last year's!  Here's what you should know as you plan your visit for this weekend.

Hours for In-Store and Curbside Service

Thursday 10am to 6pm
Friday 10am to 7pm
Saturday 10am to 7pm
Sunday 10am to 5pm
Monday 10am to 6pm

Regular store hours will resume Tuesday, June 1st.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No, we are currently accepting walk-ins, but if you'd like to make an appointment, you can do so here.

Do I need to wear a mask?

Yes.  All visitors over two years old will need to wear a mask in the store.  Though the state no longer requires that we ensure vaccinated people wear masks indoors, we're are maintaining an across-the-board mask policy to help protect the kids and their families who visit during the summer.  We want our store to be as safe as possible for those who can't be vaccinated yet.  View our pandemic policies.

How quickly are curbside pickup orders available?

It depends on whether the books you've ordered are in-store.  If so, we should be able to have your order processed and ready for pickup within a few hours, but please wait until we text you to let you know your order is ready before you come to collect it!

Does Brilliant Books have a public restroom?

Sorry, we do not.  There are a number of public restrooms available downtown, however.  Check out the map to see where!

Where are you located?

We're at 118 E. Front Street, a couple blocks west of Horizon Books and Higher Self.  You'll see us on the south side of the street between Cass and Union Streets.  See the map.

How do I find the back door for curbside pickups?

The easiest way to get to the back door is from Union Street.  Turn east into the alley between State and Front Streets, and continue past Charles and Reid Pizza (on your right) just a few more yards until you spot the back door.  A sign is posted on the wall outside with our curbside pickup hotline.  Get more information on curbside pickup.

Where can I park?

There are usually spaces in the lot directly behind the store (accessible from both the alley and from State Street), but if you need more options, check out the full parking map for Downtown Traverse City, which includes metered lots, parking decks, and other options.

Where should I get lunch (or any other meal, for that matter)?

If you've got time to stop in the store, we're happy to recommend something, but you can also check out this very handy website from Traverse City Tourism!  It lets you filter local restaurants by location, dining style, and more.
