Nonfiction Graphic Novels
Here in the kids section of Brilliant Books, we love graphic novels! And luckily for all of us here and all of your young graphic novel fans out there, there are so many good ones coming out lately!
I am particularly excited with the number of new nonfiction and historical graphic novels we've been seeing lately. Nathan Hale has been around for a while and is a perennial favorite, but there are a number of new editions to the historical and science scene. There are a variety here, varying in subject matter, for your young historians and scientists.
This one from Wonder author RJ Pallacio, is a moving story about Julian's Grandma (from Wonder) and her time in hiding during WWII
This is a really accessible way to introduce your middle grade readers to the Challenger disaster, with a solid amount of history told in a compelling way as a news report form a group of fifth graders.
A great podcast and super fun way to get to know what's happening in your body for the preteens out there. Exciting and fun!

This book is perfect for right now. Starting with vaccines throughout history and ending with our current pandemic, this historical look at vaccination will give kids context for vaccine use in public health, how they are developed and the role they have played in world health.
