Plan Your Holiday Shopping
You're probably going to get tired of hearing us say it, but with Christmas less than two weeks away, and the shipping deadlines falling early this year, it's time to finish up that last minute shopping. Here's what you need to know to avoid missing those deadlines.
This is absolutely critical. We are already seeing books and other items backordered beyond the holidays, and there's simply nothing we can do to get them any sooner. If there's a particular item you've got your heart set on gifting this year, place your order as soon as possible, even if that means preordering a book that hasn't been released yet. You'll be glad you did. Need some help getting started? Check out our gift guide!
Order Online vs. On the Phone
Whenever possible, please try to place your orders through our website for the quickest service. It's almost impossible to get us on the phone immediately as our phone line is almost constantly in use, and we know it's frustrating to have to leave a message and wait for a call back, so please try to place your order online.
Plan for Curbside Pickup
Our contactless curbside pickup is probably the fastest and easiest way to get your books and other bookish goodies from us. If you're local, place your order ahead of time, then let us package everything up and let you know when it's ready. For a refresher on our curbside pickup policies, you can find those available here.
Personal Touches Take Time
While we're happy to add personal touches like gift wrapping, notes, and more, please remember that those do require extra time from our booksellers, so if speed is of the essence, consider forgoing those extras. Here's some further reading on the kinds of extras we offer, and how they might affect the timeline of your order.

Our in-store capacity will remain limited for the foreseeable future, and with only about half as many booksellers on staff as usual for this time of year, our hours will be limited as well. However, we will do our best to accommodate the needs of our customers, including adjusting the days and times the store is open to be available as much as we can.
You can check our current store hours here. This information is updated as soon as changes are finalized, and should always be current.
