Jim Crockett's collection of poems, 'Exit Wounds' won the 2012 Michigan Writers Cooperative Press Chapbook competition, selected by Thomas Lynch. Jim is a singer/songwriter, poet, cabinetmaker, and ex-dairy farmer. He lives with his wife in Grand Traverse County, and has just retired from teaching English Composition and Spanish at Northwestern Michigan College. His poems have appeared in many little magazines (most recently in Dunes Review), and his essays in Composition Textbooks. He is currently studying Nahuatl and Anishinaabemowin, and working on a new book of poems.
